Bank of India Stand-up India Loan Scheme

This loan is designed to help women and SC/ST entrepreneurs set up greenfield enterprises in India. Greenfield enterprises eligible for this loan scheme are all first time ventures of women and SC/ST beneficiaries in the manufacturing, trading and services sector. The maximum loan amount for this loan is Rs. 1 crore.

Why this Loan?

  • This loan is meant for encouraging people from the SC/ST category and women entrepreneurs to set up greenfield enterprises in the manufacturing, services or trading sectors. In the case of non-individual enterprises, at least 51% of the company stakes should be held by women or people in the SC/ST category
  • The maximum loan amount for the Bank of India Stand-up India loan is Rs. 1 crore

Loan Amount

  • The maximum loan amount you can get under this loan scheme is Rs. 1 crore

Interest

  • Loans up to Rs. 10 lakh: The interest rate for this loan is defined as 1-year MCLR of Bank of India. As of now, one-year MCLR of the bank is 7.35%
  • Loans above Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 1 crore: The interest rate for this loan is defined as one-year MCLR of Bank of India + Strategic Premium. The Strategic Premium applicable to each business is decided by the bank based on the internal risk rating of the borrower at the time of application

Repayment

  • These loans need to be repaid within a time period of 7 years after moratorium
  • The repayment moratorium for this loan is 18 months

Security Needed

  • The bank asks for collateral as prime security for this loan or Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Stand-up India Loans (CGFSIL) coverage

Note: Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Stand-up India Loans (CGFSIL) is a scheme started by the Govt. of India to provide guarantee to loans extended under the Stand-Up Loans scheme.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be above 18 years of age
  • The greenfield venture must be in the manufacturing, service or trading sector
  • Only people in the SC/ST category and women are eligible for this loan. For non-individual enterprises, at least 51% stake should be controlled by people in the SC/ST category or women

Borrower Contribution to Total Cost (Margin Money)

  • Bank of India takes a 25% margin for these loans

Note: Margin money refers to the amount the borrower contributes to the overall amount required. The bank will cover the rest. So, if the total amount needed is Rs. 20 lakh, you will have to contribute 20% which comes to Rs. 4 lakh. The bank will provide the balance of Rs. 16 lakh.
